Author: Becky's Best Bites
Serves: 24
- 1 lb. fresh green bean, washed, trimmed and snapped.
- Put about an inch or so of water in your large stock pot. Add a steamer basket to the pot, making sure that there is no water visible in the basket.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
- Once the water is rapidly boiling, fill the steamer basket with the green beans and cover the pot.
- Steam the green beans for 10 minutes or until tender.
- Remove the cooked green beans and transfer to the food processor.
- Process the cooked green beans until it creates a puree, adding some of the cooking water to thin it out.
- Use a spoon to fill up the ice-cube trays with the green bean puree.
- Place trays of baby food in the freezer and freeze until solid, usually overnight or up to 24 hours.
- Once frozen, pop the cubes of green bean baby food out of the trays and place into either vacuum sealer pouches or freezer storage bags.
- Either vacuum seal the pouches or try to squeeze out as much air as possible out the freezer storage bags.
- Place back in the freezer until needed.
- Thaw as needed. Each cube is approximately 1 ounce of baby food.
