15 minute Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients
  • 1 box (14.25 oz.) whole wheat angel hair pasta
  • 1 cup reserved starchy cooking water (from pasta)
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb. 93% lean ground beef
  • 4 cups Slow Cooker Tomato Sauce with Fresh Herbs
  • 3 oz. tomato paste
  • sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
  • Garnish: crushed red pepper flakes and/or parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cook pasta to 'al dente' in a large stock pot, according to package instructions.
  2. Reserve 1 cup starchy cooking water, drain, and keep pasta warm.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  4. Once oil is hot, brown ground beef.
  5. Add tomato sauce and paste, stir to combine and cook until sauce has thickened slightly, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add meat sauce and reserved starchy cooking water to the cooked pasta and stir to combine.
  7. Serve hot and garnish with crushed red pepper flakes and/or parmesan cheese, if desired.
