Let me ask you a question…could you find 5 minutes in your day for a little “me time?” Sounds like a simple question to most, but to us (and you know I am talking to you) it isn’t quite that simple. If you are anything like me, you would have to cram that 5 minutes somewhere between family, work, blog/side hustle, house and many other obligations that you have on a daily basis…am I right y’all?
Well today I want to share with you a super easy way to do something good for yourself AND feel like you are treating yourself when you do find those few minutes of quiet time that we all cherish. My Green Berry Mocha Pudding Smoothie is the perfect good for you treat that sneaks in nutrient powerhouse kale and yummy antioxidant rich berries while giving you that mocha flavor that we all love!!
My inspiration for these Green Berry Mocha Pudding Smoothies came when I noticed these Café Breaks pudding cups while shopping for snacks at my local Walmart. A quick look at the packaging told me that they were Gluten free, no preservatives, only 100 Calories or less per cup and that milk is the first ingredient. Sounds great to me! The packaging made them super convenient and on the go ready 🙂 The price (as you can see) was awesome to begin with but y’all know this frugal gal loves to save money, so I checked my ibotta app and sure enough there was an offer for a $0.50 off coupon. So of course, I stocked up, took advantage of the ibotta offer and saved some money 😉
These lil gems come in delightful flavors such as Mocha Latte, Caramel Latte, Chai Latte, and French Vanilla Latte. My Walmart had the Mocha Latte and the Caramel Latte, so those are the ones that we have tried. No need to rush to my local coffee shop when a craving for a latte hits (and so much cheaper), instead I just grab a Café Breaks pudding cup and sit back and kick my feet up!!
Now as great as these Café Breaks pudding cups are by themselves, I decided to see what I could whip up with them! I thought that a mocha pudding smoothie sounded amazing and if I could throw in a little kale and frozen berries, then I had a treat that was also filling my body with some extra nutrients…WINNER!!
Just throw some kale, frozen berries (variety of your choice), a Café Breaks pudding cup, milk and a couple of ice cubes in a blender and give it a whirl!
30 seconds later, you have a Green Berry Mocha Pudding Smoothie and 5 minutes later you have a happy belly and the energy to face the rest of your day 😉
Here is your recipe for Green Berry Mocha Pudding Smoothie:
- 1 large handful kale, washed and torn or chopped into bite-size pieces
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries (variety of your choice - I used blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries
- 1 cup reduced fat milk
- 2 cups Café Breaks Mocha pudding cups
- 3-4 ice cubes
- Combine all ingredients in a blender cup.
- Blend using the highest setting for approximately 30 seconds or until well combined.
- Divide between two glasses and serve cold!
- Enjoy a 5 minute break!!
