Best Homemade Slow Cooker Applesauce is an easy and simple recipe combining flavors like fresh apples, cinnamon, nutmeg & Madagascar vanilla extract.| Becky's Best Bites

My Best Homemade Slow Cooker Applesauce originally appeared on the Love Nerds November Apple Series. It has evolved from the homemade, organic baby and now toddler food that I have been making this year for my nephew. When my nephew was still just eating baby food, I made the applesauce using just apples. I would fill ice cube trays with the applesauce and freeze for individual servings for him. He loved it like that, with my sister reporting that it was his fav!! Once he was older and could have other ingredients introduced, we added the fresh cinnamon, nutmeg and madagascar vanilla extract. Then it was like OMG!! The house would smell like apple pie and the adults even enjoyed the applesauce, but my nephew was over the moon!! And that put me over the moon 🙂

Here is a shot of the apples in the slow cooker, just before turning it on. You can see the cinnamon stick and the fresh nutmeg shavings. You can’t really see the madagascar vanilla extract, but believe me…you will taste it and it is AMAZING!!! So let’s get to it!

Homemade applesauce is the best! I used to make most of my own baby food when my kids were little, but I never made applesauce. My mother in law makes it fairly often for my kids in the fall though. Great recipe!
