Spicy Saucy Slow Cooker Chili is an easy and healthy recipe that will certainly warm you up on these chilly (pun intended) nights. Just throw all the ingredients in your slow cooker and 8 hours later you will have bellyful of spicy, yummy goodness that you can feel good about too! Go ahead and get that second helping and don’t even feel a little bad about it 🙂
Use these simple ingredients like fire roasted tomatoes, chili beans, fresh garlic, onion and jalapenos plus a package of 93% lean ground beef or ground turkey breast and a bottle of your favorite light beer to whip up a simple slow cooker chili that you will want to keep on the fall/winter menu rotation. Or you can keep it a vegetarian chili by adding another can of your favorite beans 🙂 I have made it both ways and love both equally!! Now my meat-lovin’ boys would prefer the meaty version but either way they are getting a healthy meal that will warm them up from the inside out 🙂
- 1 lb pack of 93% lean ground beef or turkey breast
- 1 sweet onion, chopped
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced or pressed
- 2-4 jalapenos (remove the ribs and seeds if you don't like it spicy or leave in for more spice)
- 3 (15.5 oz) cans of fire roasted tomatoes, diced
- 2 (14.5 oz) cans of kidney or chili beans
- 2 tablespoons of chipotle chili powder
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 3 teaspoons sea salt
- 4 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 (12 oz) bottle of your favorite light beer
- This couldn't be easier!! Add all ingredients to the slow cooker, cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 7-8 hours.
- Garnish with cilantro if wanted. Top with avocado, cheese, greek yogurt or sour cream. Enjoy!!
