Healthy morning routines are easy with Super Healthy Berry Smoothie Bowl and Great Grains Cereal! These berry smoothie bowls are thick, creamy, delicious and packed with nutrients fuel your day! #RealValueRealDelicous #ad
Happy Labor Day! Can you believe that it is the end of summer? School is back in session and we are all trying to get back into healthy morning routines, right? So let me ask you… How do you start your day? Is it a hectic, crazy time just trying to get your kids and yourself dressed, ready and out the door on-time? Yes? What about the most important meal of the day? I am hearing you say that there just isn’t time for that!
Well…I have two healthy and easy options for you today to make sure that you and your family have time for a good breakfast to get them started on the right track! The first is a simple bowl of a great cereal, Great Grains! We checked out two of their awesome flavors, Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch & Great Grains Raisins, Dates & Pecans 🙂
Both cereals are mom approved for nutrition and kid approved for taste! Not only are they whole grain cereals that are excellent sources of fiber and antioxidants, but provide 9 grams of protein with milk! While we loved them alone, I decided to take it up a notch and create my Super Healthy Berry Smoothie Bowl!
Why a berry smoothie bowl versus a standard smoothie? The thick, creamy ice-cream like texture requires a spoon rather than a straw AND you feel like you are having a treat! You can top them with just about anything – let your imagination run wild! And finally they are super filling so you are good to go until lunch time 🙂
Frozen berries and frozen bananas are the key components to that thick, ice cream like texture! To really get the creaminess and to add in heart-healthy fats, add in avocado. Y’all know I love my green smoothies too so I added some kale in my berry smoothie bar for good measure 😉
The berry smoothie bowl base is amazing on its own, but you can really elevate it to the next level with the toppings!! I personally chose fresh strawberries, bananas, chia and flax seeds, coconut flakes and the best part, Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch! Look how thick this berry smoothie bowl is!!

Here is your recipe for Super Healthy Berry Smoothie Bowl:
- 1 large handful (appx. 1 cup) chopped kale
- 2 - 3 frozen bananas, pre-sliced
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1 avocado, peeled and pit removed
- ¼ to ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond or cashew milk (or milk of choice)
- ⅓ cup Great Grains cereal
- Additional toppings of choice: fresh strawberries, bananas, chia, flax seed, coconut flake
- Let frozen bananas thaw for a few minutes for easier blending.
- Place kale, frozen banana pieces, frozen berries, avocado and milk in a food processor or high speed blender bowl.
- Pulse/blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary.
- Start with least amount of milk and only add more if necessary to blend. Too much milk and the consistency will become thin. The goal is a very thick mixture.
- Spoon into a bowl, top with Great Grains cereal and your other favorite toppings!
- Enjoy an amazing day!!
