Lean boneless pork chops simmer all day long in the slow cooker in a delectable sauce featuring parmesan, honey and fresh herbs. Serve this slow cooker parmesan honey pork over brown rice and dinner is done! The perfect weeknight recipe to have dinner waiting on you when you walk in the door. Ten minutes in the morning and you will walk into a house that smells heavenly!
I adapted the original recipe by Six Sister’s Stuff to make the recipe more Becky’s Best Bites approved. They started with a boneless pork roast and I used boneless lean pork chops. I also swapped all the herbs and garlic to fresh. Finally I used Bragg’s Liquid Aminos in place of soy sauce. This is an easy switch that your family will NOT EVEN NOTICE, I promise. Bragg Liquid Aminos is a Certified NON-GMO liquid protein concentrate derived from soybeans that contains both Essential and Non-essential Amino Acids in naturally occurring amounts. It is gluten free, preservative free and contain far less sodium than soy sauce. It tastes just like soy sauce, so I try to make the swap whenever possible. Also in the original recipe, the instructions called for you to “skim off the fat” from the pork to make a gravy prior to serving. In my slow cooker parmesan honey pork, that isn’t necessary because of the lean boneless pork chops.
I also talk a lot here about dinner being “ready for the table” when you come home…you might be wondering, “When do I make the brown rice or other starch?” I use a programmable rice cooker to have fresh steamed rice or other starch ready when I get home. This rice cooker is very similar to mine, just a newer model. I absolutely LOVE IT!!
- 4 lean boneless pork chops
- ⅔ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup honey
- 3 Tbsp Bragg's Liquid Aminos
- 2 Tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- 1 Tbsp fresh oregano, chopped (spicy oregano if you have it)
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp sea salt
- Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or place a slow cooker liner inside the stoneware and place pork chops (frozen is fine) in slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, combine the cheese, honey, Bragg's Liquid Aminos, basil, oregano, garlic, oil and salt; pour over the pork chops.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours if the pork chops were frozen and 6-7 hours if thawed.
- Serve over brown rice or other starch and add a simple green salad or steamed green veggie to round out the meal.
Now it is your turn, what is your favorite “kitchen gadget?”
